A break-in doesn't start at the lock. It starts at the glass — the quickest way through most homes and storefronts. Alarms and cameras report what happens; they can't stop a pane from giving way.
Security film changes what glass does under attack. Properly installed and anchored, it holds a cracked pane together and in its frame, so getting through takes far longer and makes far more noise than most people are willing to risk.

All of our security film is SolarGard® Armorcoat® — high-tensile polyester layers and aggressive adhesives, GSA blast tested (GSA-TS01-2003). We recommend a thickness and finish after assessing your glass and frames, then anchor every installation.

Clear security film
No tint and no change in appearance. The glass looks the same — it just stops behaving like glass under impact. The thicker the film, the greater the resistance. SolarGard publishes 86–88% visible light transmission and more than 99% UV blocked across the clear range (4 to 14 mil).
8 mil clear
Clear, everyday protection for standard glass. The right choice for most residential doors, sliders and windows.
14 mil clear
Our strongest film, for high-risk glass where more resistance is needed, such as ground-floor doors and storefronts.

Our 8 mil tinted films bring three benefits into one product: the strength of security film, daytime privacy, and solar heat rejection. They come from SolarGard's Armorcoat® Solar Safety family, published at 45–77% total solar energy rejected and 99%+ UV blocked.

A silvered finish with daytime privacy and heat rejection on an 8 mil security film.
8 mil Stainless Steel
A neutral steel-grey tone with lower reflectance than a mirror film, plus daytime privacy, heat rejection and security.

Does security film make glass unbreakable?
No film makes glass unbreakable. Security film holds a cracked pane together, which slows entry and reduces flying glass. Combined with proper anchoring to the frame, the whole pane stays retained.
What's the difference between 8 mil and 14 mil?
Thicker film offers more resistance. 14 mil is our strongest and suits high-risk glass such as ground-floor doors and storefronts; 8 mil suits most residential glass. We recommend the right thickness after assessing your glass and frames.
Why does anchoring matter?
Film alone keeps fragments together, but an unanchored pane can still be pushed out of its frame in one piece. We bond the film edge to the frame with DOWSIL™ 995 structural silicone so the pane stays put. Read more
